For example spoilers ahead if I want to marry let's say Penny, but I get to 10 hearts too with Abigail, will Abigail love me after the cutscene? And even during the marriage? Three: What if I reach 10 hearts with someone while I'm married? Will I go through the normal cutscenes? Will I have to kiss someone? And if yes, will it have consequencies on the marriage? The only true romance scene happens at 10 hearts. Below that is probably "uncomfortable and awkward" scene if you are not into that. I have never done it myself, but i have read many married couple still got the 10 hearts scene later after the ceremony provided you know which area and the time to avoid that triggers the scene. Although not explicitly mentioned, you can roleplay that you are the bicycle of the community, and still have a spouse. Gabaw likes this. The best way to avoid the kissing scenes altogether is to just not give them a bouquet. You can be at a max of 8 hearts and their friendship will not decay, since that is declared as max friendship unless you give them a bouquet to get them to 10 hearts. From what I've seen most of the cut-scenes from can be slightly ambigious with maybe a bit of awkwardness on a couple I think Abigail's is the most blatent of "I am crushing on you", but most of the scenes could just be hand waved as close friends. And the game is set up that once you max their hearts at 8, they stop friendship decaying. So I tend to view the bouquet as a "I am ready to declare my affectionate intents" which opens up the last 2 hearts and gets a person to the 10 heart cutscene The cutscenes themselves have no real alterations based on if you are married or not likely because each villager heart track is independent of one another so its not counting anything other than its own relationship score , and generally play no part in making your spouse if married jealous. Really the only thing that seems to rustle the spouse's jims is if you are gifting the other singles so they are more likely to give you gruff over you giving the other single a parsnip while completely ignoring the fact you were smooch-central over in a cutscene.

I find most folks prefer to just try to get all the cutscenes out of the way before actually marrying a spouse I think CA set it up that way beause he knew some folks would prolly feel a bit uncomfortable about guys or girls putting the moves on their character so tried to make the ambigious and leave it up to the player to actually tip the NPCs into romance. When the patch updated, a few folks had inadvertedly gotten singles up past the 8 mark so it was a bit of a shuffle time In theory the single villagers should have their last two hearts blacked out meaning they cap out at 8 hearts and are unable to get to 10 hearts without using the bouquet to unlock the last two hearts.
